The Berg Companies

comprise some of the oldest, continuously operating businesses in the state of Washington. F.O. Berg was founded by Fredrick Oliver Berg in 1883. Back then the F.O. Berg Company produced high quality products, such as tents and awnings, using industrial fabrics.

After the big Spokane fire of 1889, the F.O. Berg Company was credited with building the 'Tent City' that housed businesses and residences during the rebuilding process. The company has relocated  over the years as the business evolved and developed new products.

In 1965 Spokane Tent and Awning purchased the company from Berg's family. In 1992 Andy Barrett joined the company as owner, and by 1994 Craig Dolsby joined the company as co-owner. In 2006, Barrett and Dolsby sold the majority ownership of one of their other holdings, Echelon Manufacturing, LLC, to the Coeur d'Alene Tribe, while keeping minority ownership. They renamed and refocused the business now known as Berg Integrated Systems. Together Berg Flexible Containment, Berg Manufacturing, Inc and Berg Integrated Systems make up the Berg Companies.
